To celebrate the official start of summer this week I decided to put together an illustration I’ve been having in my head for quite a while: a girl sipping on a glass of cold fresh lemonade, my favourite summer drink! I haven’t had much time for personal work lately, so it was quite relaxing stealing a little time for it here and there. I love how the colours turned out- very fresh and summery in my view, I just hope they don’t look too different on other screens; it is something I’m struggling with! The style is resurrection of my long forgotten “vector watercolour” style, which I love. It is probably the most complex vector illustration style I do, which is why I use it so rarely. In the end it’s worth it, though. I haven’t drawn anything in this style for over 2 years now and I’ve forgotten all I have discovered about it before. So I’ve promised myself not to let this happen again. I’ll be starting another one soon and I’m already excited about it. I want to make series of girls enjoying different drinks in different seasons and maybe… make a calendar out of it! That would be much fun!
